MedWire (October 8th, Albert) reported, “A combination of wet dressings and topical corticosteroids is highly effective for improving the symptoms of children admitted to hospital with severe atopic dermatitis (AD),” according to a study published online Oct. 5 in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. After analyzing “the outcomes of 218 children admitted to the Mayo Clinic for widespread severe AD between 1980 and 2010,” researchers also found that such “intensive topical therapy is effective, safe, and well tolerated.”
